Those who know me pretty ok would probably know or shall i say,
immune, to what appears to be my "holy water" .
Those who don't know, it's one of my tics where i spit . /embarassed.
i know, eew. Oh well, i wouldn't do it if i could help it , right?

Anyhow, the "holy water" has been oh unconditionally blessing my laptop,
causing stains and ugh u know what. Sank god i finally stopped procrastinating and went off to Carefour with jd to hunt for appropriate accessories to save my lappie's physical condition.

What did i buy ?
Screen protector, keyboard protector, micro-fibre cloth, LCD cleaner,
keyboard vacuum, some cyber-clean sort of slim thingy, and hahah an external keyboard ! yeah, following the steps of my fellow tambi in keeping her laptop clean and convenient.

And going out with jd, nevertheless meant another adventure.
While jd was in the line, i went to grab a packet of drink nearby.
When i heard jd screaming "CHING !", i rushed over. She whispered "that chinese guy behind us tried to cut my line." A moment later, he suddenly stood in front of me, shoving his jar of cheese to the cashier and placed it on the counter.
Did i mention, the cashier was still handling the customer in front of us ?
then out of no where, he started talking to the cashier in Arab. He tried to be friendly.
He even asked "you malay or Kadazan?". He just kept babbling.

I guess it's one of his tactics of the ways to cut line -
"To distract people by continuously talking rubbish!"

He then took out his money and asked "Eh, where's my cheese?".
The cashier was still scanning the earlier customer's things !!
The cashier was in shock but manage to give the man the
'can't you see what i'm doing' look, and ignored him! Jd and i just watched and laughed.
Even the family behind us were gossiping bout the man cutting the queue and shook
their heads in disgust.

We weren't mad.
We were amused that a grown up old man
would do something not quite ethical.

Yes, i've known cheryl for very long(since 8). but we never talked much even though we car-pulled to tuitions. In car journeys, there would be pure silence. & of course, her mom thought we kids fought.

But there are still parts of us that would change.

Whether if its for the better or for the worse,
most of the times we don't realise it.
We are humans. We do change.
And changing is part of growing up.

Cause theres just too much going on in life that

Lost upon reaching the Rakan Muda Kompleks, we were at the empty car park when we heard drums sounds, "doong doong tak tak".

Ching : Can you hear the sounds ? They sound like drums. I think they're
behind the car park.
WeiWen : Yah. I think they're drums too.
JD : Hmmm.
WeiWen : But they sound like crap.

So, we headed to where our ears told us to. Turns out, it was the sound of skateboarders skating, olie-ing, kickflipping, and doing all sorts of tricks in the skate park.

Weiwen : No wonder they sound like crap.

Has anyone heard of KL Drumline ? :D

They're kind of like a brassband but they're all drums. If you've watched the movie Drumline, you'll get the idea of it. Anyway, KL Drumline goes around performing at events. In fact, they're performing at Zouk later tonight. Oh, and did i mention they're opening for Rihanna's concert ?

For someone like me who never played drums, yes it was hard to catchup on some basic beats. It took some time to get comfy with the beating techniques. Frankly, even holding the sticks felt awkward.
But, yeah, it's part of learning, right ? Anyhow, we had fun !

I do hope Jd and Weiwen is able to make it next week.
Or i won't be going. boo.

i wanted to be a doctor because of the TV series, ER.
When i grew a little older and got bored of ER,
i secretly wanted to be an air stewardess.
When i figured i wouldn't make it as one,
i wanted to be and actor simply because
i love being able to live different characters.
When i reached puberty,
i wanted to be a child psychologist to
counsel disturbed kids.

When i stepped into a place of gossips aka high school,
i wanted to be a social worker to help those in trouble.
When i grew old enough to know i hated Science,
i wanted to be a graphic designer.
When i took up art and found it difficult,
i secretly wanted to be a dancer because dancing keeps my tics away.
When i figured i wasn't good enough as a dancer,
i didn't know what i wanted anymore.

And here i am studying Communications
because i don't mind doing it.
But what i think i really want is to perform. :)

Dear Piney,

Its 3.30am.
Technically, you should have landed at Perth already.
But you know, Malaysian timing.
So im not sure if you actually took off at 11.30pm sharp.
If you've been wondering, yes, i've been
tearing and reflecting.
Like i've said much earlier before,
you've painted something sort of meaningful
on my wall even though it's pretty random.
So haha, after coming back from seeing you off,
i actually sat and stared at the wall you scribbled on.
&&since we both have a ring, i've added a ring
on the pinky finger of the hand you drew.
But my eyes were soaking then. lol.

They say good times never last. Literally, maybe.
'Cause, our good times we had since 9,
still remains fresh in me.
I mean, it never goes away.
Im not sure bout you but for me, it just stays,
even when we're 1545 miles away.
I guess you just mean alot to me.
Looking back, I realised you were the one
who brought me smiles when i was a troubled kid staying
with a family who thought my tics were a habit.
The presence of you itself helped me escape to
my other side of the
world where i was trouble and worry free - wonderland.
Somehow, i just felt safe there.
Free from the abusive yellings and beatings.
Yes, you introduced me to wonderland.

And years later,
it is extremely great to still be able to be close to you.

5 years of agony after a fall leads her to multiple ilness.
Organs dysfunctions.
Bones stiffen.
Muscles weaken.

Though declared almost vegetable-like,
(minus the fact that she does not need to depend on the life support)
I envy her 5 years of struggle, fighting to stay alive.

&Finally after being able to see all her children from across countries,
she is showing signs that it is time to crossover.

her children from overseas came to pay her a visit.

Another thing that touched her that very day was the
purity of this very particular kid.
He is 13 and he wants to be a doctor.
When asked why, he answered,

So, i want to be a doctor, where i can help those in need. "

It seems like any other answer a kid would give,
but his eyes reflected his sincerity and passion
on how much he wanted to help people.

Whatever it is, she thinks this kid has a bright future.
&with faith in himself, she is ready to help.

So while her heart is being unfold,
she only wants to help.

While replying an email of my biodata to TSA US,
i stopped and ponder upon the lives of other worse cases of Touretters.

If i were to reply the email saying
"TS isn't a terrible thing. It somehow makes certain people special." ,
just cause it may be something very encouraging and positive,

is it going to be a lie ?

Yes, it will.
It'll be a big FAT lie.

The fact is, those who suffer from the
worse cases of Tourette have to endure terrible distress.

I find that Touretters actually use up
almost twice the energy of a normal person.
We need the extra energy to tic.
And its not that we want to, we have to.
All because we have to, we become even more exhausted.
I admit I do feel exhausted at times.
It's really awful especially when you still need to tic
but have no energy left to do so, and yet, you still have to do it.

Its like forcing yourself to finish up that 7km run
even when you know you are about to faint anytime soon.

If i am able to feel terrible, how do those worse cases of Touretters feel?
How about those who injure themselve
due to their motor tics?

I pummel my abdomen till there is blue-black scar on my skin surface .
I hit my own body - my chest my torso my back.
It hurts. It does.
&Who knows, i may have injured myself internally.
If you think mine is bad enough, there are far worse cases.

I have been told that there is a man in his 50s who
have had blinded himself due to ts
- his motor tics made him poke himself in the eye.
Also, due to tics, a young adult hits his head
on the wall that sometimes, it'll bleed.
There are even cases which when Tourette
interferes with our daily activities.
ie eating & talking.

Our babies have a 50% chance of getting Tourette.

Is Tourette that terrible? yes it is.

It makes you do what your body does not want to.
It fights against you.
It tears you physically, emotionally and mentally.

But then again,
we are told to look at the positive side.
There are worse syndromes and diseases in the world.
We do suffer a lot but we should feel lucky
that it isn't a life and death matter.

And till now, i have to hold on strongly to the sayings ,

'The good always come with the bad."

"God only gives what thy hand can handle"

..because if i don't , i'd be terribly miserable.

hello blog. how are you ? miss me ? aaawwww.

okayh im back for some writing action !

Last week, I had my very first press conference at KLPAC. We, the cast of Ismail, performed a preview of the musical. I thought we did okayh.
I had trouble suppressing my tics while waiting
for Joe's speech to end to finally have the chance to shine on the 'stage' .
Well, the 'stage' here was actually the lobby of klpac.
&yeah, because i couldnt sit still, Lex threatened to lock me up in this small room filled with huge pipes nearby - The Filter Room. =.=

And, i think i'm the only ensemble
who has alot of problems getting the right fit clothes.
So, on that day, while my costume designer was pinning my top here and there,
she finally commented,

"You know what? Your boobs are too big for your body size !"

After our preview, free kuih were served for us and the press of course.
We certainly became an instant barbarian after having to starve for 5hours before the press conference without lunch. =l
The press however weren't really interested in the ensemble hahah.

So, what my friends and i did, we went back up to the studio
to camwhore with our evening gowns.
They're temporary gowns as our costume gowns for the show weren't ready yet.

i never liked having you around the house.

I beg you review the petrol price again or to subsidize them more before you start seeing your people riding bicycles to work just like how it used to be in the 40's where they could not afford cars. The only difference is that we now cannot afford to pay for our petrol. It's a shame to see the country going backwards instead of modernizing in becoming more efficient. We are definitely not ready with the sudden increase of 41% ( 78cent). Its a huge impact for us people.

Instead of our 3 hours rehearsal today,
Feridah treated us all to watch 'Good People'.

yeeeehaaaaa :D .
Though i have to admit i didn't actually get the whole play,
(maybe cause im just too blur) , the actors seriously deserve two thumbs up !
The fact that they managed to bring their characters to live, was fantastic.
A very real and truthful play.
Something I can get my inspiration from :P

However after the play,
we had to climb up three storeys high
back into our studio to do our 'zapin' dance for half and hour.
This time we did the steps in a quite different timing
together with a partner.

Honestly, it took me some time to start getting it right.
I don't know why but I just couldn't get the flow.
